The VSU Odum Library Interior Renovation project consisted of the interior renovations of “Old Odum Library” (built 1968-1972) located on the main campus of Valdosta State University. The Renovations included the replacement of the existing ceiling system and all the lighting, replacement of the HVAC supply system on each floor including HVAC controls, supply ducts and returns as well as replacement of sprinkler heads and installing new smoke detectors. This interior renovation also involved the replacement of floor coverings, repainting the interiors and refurbishing the 1970’s circulation desk. The project involved spatial reconfiguration for offices and group study rooms improving space to meet the constantly evolving needs of students and library staff. The renovation project was developed to be constructed in three phases over two years, doing one floor per phase as it is critical to maintain the function and occupancy of the library.
